The silk is stretched over an internal metal frame that maintains the sphere while remaining visually discreet. When switched off, the weave gives the shade subtle texture; when illuminated, the silk surface becomes the light diffuser.

Keep the silk shade dry. Dust gently with a soft dry brush or a low-suction vacuum attachment. Avoid water contact, high humidity and heavy cooking-oil vapor.
Slight differences in silk weave density, texture and translucency are expected from one shade to another. These subtle variations are characteristics of the hand-finished textile surface rather than defects.

Which size should I choose?
Small works well for bedside pairs, smaller bedrooms and intimate spaces. Medium is the most versatile option for primary bedrooms, dining rooms and standard living rooms. Choose Large when the room needs a more substantial spherical focal point.
Is Selene intended for bright task lighting?
Selene is designed primarily for soft ambient lighting. The silk shade diffuses the light across its surface, so it creates a gentler atmosphere than a clear glass pendant with a visible light source.
Are the bulbs included?
Yes. Selene includes warm-white 2700K LED bulbs. Small uses an E14 bulb, while Medium and Large use E27 bulbs.
Can Selene be dimmed?
Yes, with a compatible setup. The included bulbs are non-dimmable. Replace them with compatible dimmable LEDs and use a compatible Triac wall dimmer if brightness control is required.
Can I request a longer cord?
Yes. Custom cord lengths are available at no extra charge. For vaulted or double-height ceilings, send your ceiling height and desired finished drop to info@olivaravive.com before ordering.
Can Selene be used in a bathroom or kitchen?
Selene is rated IP20 for indoor dry locations. Bathrooms and other humid areas are not recommended. Kitchens with heavy cooking-oil vapor are also better suited to glass or metal fixtures, because residue can collect in the silk weave.
