Product Description

Cast Brass · Ruby Glass · Louis XIV / Régence Vocabulary · Three Sizes

A French Régence-style chandelier in the Louis XIV vocabulary that defined Beaux-Arts dining rooms in Gilded Age America — sand-cast brass acanthus arms scroll outward from a central ruby-glass urn, capped above by a brass crown of foliate scrollwork and resolved below in a smaller ruby-glass finial. Each candle arm carries a brass bobeche and rises to an open candle socket.

The brass castings are chased and hand-finished in the manner of period French ciseleurs; the ruby glass is hand-blown in the Bohemian-cased tradition. Suited to formal dining rooms, primary entry foyers, two-story foyers, and great-room interiors in 5,000+ sq ft estates, luxury hotels, and Federal, Greek Revival, Beaux-Arts, and Second Empire historic-restoration projects.

French Régence Provenance

Acanthus arms, foliate crown, and central ruby-glass urn drawn from Louis XIV / Régence chandelier tradition — the period reference for American Beaux-Arts dining.

Cast Brass & Bohemian Ruby Glass

Sand-cast and chased solid brass arms; hand-blown ruby-cased glass urn and finial in the Bohemian tradition.

Three Estate Scales

6-light Ø 29.5″, 8-light Ø 37.4″, and 8+4-light Ø 38.6″ — sized for primary dining, large foyers, and grand two-story rooms.

6-Light · Ø 29.5″ × H 28.7″ (Ø 75 × 73 cm)

Six candle arms. For dining tables seating 4–8, 4,000–6,000 sq ft homes, primary entry foyers with 9–11 ft ceilings.

8-Light · Ø 37.4″ × H 32.3″ (Ø 95 × 82 cm)

Eight candle arms. For dining tables seating 8–12, large formal dining rooms, primary foyers with 11–14 ft ceilings.

8+4-Light Grand · Ø 38.6″ × H 33.5″ (Ø 98 × 85 cm)

Eight outer arms plus four inner arms — twelve candles total. For two-story foyers, grand dining rooms, and historic-restoration projects in 5,000+ sq ft estates.

Hand-blown ruby glass — variation is character. Glass tone, internal bubbles, and surface flow vary fixture to fixture; brass casting carries hand-chased detail.

Reinforced ceiling support recommended. Approx. 25–45 kg (55–100 lbs) assembled — your electrician should anchor to a joist or use a UL-listed fixture brace.

  • Licensed electrician required. Hardwired ceiling pendant via supplied canopy plate and chain.
  • Specialist installer recommended. Cast-brass arms and ruby-glass urn must be handled with care during un-crating — never lift by the arms alone.
  • Confirm ceiling support. 25–45 kg assembled exceeds standard junction-box rating — UL-listed fixture brace or joist anchor required.
  • Hang the lower finial 30–34″ above the dining table, or 7 ft+ above the foyer floor in walking zones.
  • Bulbs supplied by installer. 6, 8, or 12 × E12 clear candle LED at 2700K — clear envelope reads best with the ruby glass urn.

Which size should I choose? +

The 6-light (Ø 29.5″) suits dining tables 48–66″ long, primary foyers with 9–11 ft ceilings, and 4,000–6,000 sq ft homes. The 8-light (Ø 37.4″) suits dining tables 60–80″ long and primary foyers with 11–14 ft ceilings. The 8+4-light grand (Ø 38.6″) is built for two-story foyers, grand dining rooms, and historic-restoration projects. Hang the lower finial 30–34″ above the dining table top.

How heavy is it and what ceiling support do I need? +

Approximately 25–45 kg (55–100 lbs) assembled depending on size — at or above standard residential junction-box rating. Your electrician should install a UL-listed heavy-duty fixture brace or anchor to a structural joist. For the 8+4-light grand on a two-story or cathedral ceiling, structural-engineer review is recommended.

What bulbs should I use? +

6, 8, or 12 × E12 candelabra-base bulbs (US standard) depending on size, supplied by your installer. We recommend clear-envelope candle LEDs at 2700K, ≤ 25W incandescent-equivalent. Clear glass reads best with the ruby central urn — frosted bulbs flatten the depth of the glass and are not recommended.

Is it dimmable? Lutron-compatible? +

Standard wiring is non-dimming. TRIAC-dimmable wiring is available as a custom build — please specify when contacting us. Compatible with Lutron Caséta, Diva, and forward-phase wall dimmers when paired with dimmable LED bulbs. See our dimming protocols guide.

Can I get a longer chain or different finish? +

Yes — longer chain drops for two-story foyers (36–60″) available on request. The polished brass with ruby glass is the period-correct standard; alternative metal finishes (antique brass, dark patinated bronze, French gilt) and alternative glass colors (clear, amber, smoked) can be quoted as custom builds.

Suitable for hospitality and historic-restoration projects? +

Yes — hospitality-grade. Solid-brass construction and period-correct Régence silhouette suit luxury hotel suites, fine-dining restaurants, members-club libraries, and Federal, Greek Revival, Beaux-Arts, and Second Empire restoration projects. ETL listing available on request. Contact our trade desk for project-quantity coordination.
