An inverted-bowl ceiling pendant in the language of 1930s Art Deco lighting — a wide shallow alabaster bowl suspended from four slender brass tie-rods that meet at a small central canopy. The bowl is hand-cut from a single block of Spanish alabaster, with six bulbs concealed inside, casting an ambient uplight wash through the stone and onto the ceiling.
The brass frame is hand-aged with a vintage finish — deeper at the recessed seam where the bowl meets the rim, brighter on the polished tie-rods. The result is a fixture that reads like a glowing alabaster vessel rather than a chandelier with visible bulbs. The semi-flush profile (only 51 cm / 20″ total drop) makes it especially good for ceilings of 8–9 ft where a deeper chandelier would feel too low.

The alabaster is quarried in Aragón, Spain and hand-cut from natural blocks. The cloud-like veining, color depth, and translucency are properties of the natural stone — no two bowls are identical. This is the character of the material, not a flaw, and one of the reasons alabaster has been valued for ambient lighting since Roman times.
Is the Dionne dimmable? +
Yes, with the right bulb. Each socket takes an E26 (US) or E27 (EU) screw-base bulb. Install dimmable LED bulbs on a TRIAC wall dimmer and the pendant dims smoothly. Warm white 2700K–3000K is recommended to flatter the alabaster glow.
What kind of light does it cast? +
The six bulbs are concealed inside the bowl, so light washes upward through the alabaster onto the ceiling rather than projecting downward. The result is ambient indirect illumination — softer and more atmospheric than a downlight chandelier — with the bowl itself glowing as a secondary light source.
