Akari L8 is a 63-inch vertical pendant shaped with rhythmic accordion folds from top to bottom. Its slim 15-inch profile fills tall architectural spaces without the visual weight of a large chandelier.

Hand-Folded Accordion Pleats
Dense Mulberry Washi is folded into repeating ridges across the full height of the shade. The pleats create visible texture during the day and subtle bands of light and shadow when illuminated.

The repeating pleats give the long paper column definition even when the fixture is switched off.
Light moves across the ridges instead of reading as one flat, uniform paper surface.
Uses an E26 / E27 bulb up to 40W. Dimming is possible with a compatible dimmable bulb and wall dimmer.
Includes a 59" / 150cm suspension cord. Longer lengths are available on request for tall foyers, staircases and double-height installations.

Good to Know
Will the L8 work with my ceiling height?
The shade itself is 63" / 160cm tall, so L8 is intended primarily for 11ft+ ceilings, vaulted rooms, staircases and double-height spaces. It is generally too long for a standard 8–9 ft ceiling.
Can the suspension cord be longer?
Yes. The standard cord is 59" / 150cm. Longer lengths can be requested for tall foyers, stairwells and other high-ceiling installations.
How should I clean the pleated Washi?
Use a soft feather duster or microfiber wand and move gently along the direction of the pleats. Do not wet-clean, steam, spray cleaners or use a damp cloth. Keep the paper away from humid areas and direct heat sources.

Each piece is handmade, so slight variations in texture and dimensions are normal, and washi paper ambers gently over time. Screen colors are approximate; hand-measured sizes may vary 1–2cm.
